Is the VOOPOO VINCI Spark220 Worth It? Full Breakdown & Test Results

The VOOPOO VINCI Spark220 is a dual-18650 mod with a futuristic design, featuring a bright OLED screen and starry illuminated panels. It pairs with the UFORCE-X sub-ohm tank, offering a 5.5mL capacity, sliding top-fill, and dual top airflow. Available in seven colors.

The VOOPOO VINCI Spark220 is a dual-18650 mod and the successor to the VINCI Spark 100. VOOPOO, known for its DRAG series, has evolved from a hype-driven brand to a quality-focused manufacturer. The Spark220 delivers up to 220 watts and comes with the UFORCE-X tank, also featured in the DRAG 5 kit. While I won’t cover the tank here, you can find details in my DRAG 5 review.

First impressions

The VINCI Spark220 stands out with its futuristic design, featuring a bright LED screen and star-like illuminated panels. It has a unique dial button for adjustments and firing, with a textured grip and soft-touch end. The battery door is well-designed for easy swaps, and the lock slider adds convenience. Overall, it feels like a nod to the era of bold, innovative mod designs.

Build quality and design

The Spark220 is a well-built, durable mod with a sleek design. It features a single rotating button for operation, a lock slider, and a centered 510 pin. The 1.4” LED screen is bright and clear, and the USB-C port is positioned on the left side. The magnetic battery door fits securely with a protective coating inside. I received two of the six colors—dark red and space blue—both with a stylish matte finish and minimal branding.

Features and functions

  • Modes & Functionality – The Spark220 offers Smart, RBA, and TC-TCR modes. Smart mode limits wattage to protect coils, while RBA acts as a standard power mode. TC-TCR supports Ni200, Ti, SS316, and SS430, though temp control performance is lacking. More power mode options like watt curves or preheat would be ideal.

  • Lock Slider & Customization – The programmable lock slider can either lock the entire device or just the settings. I prefer full lock mode to prevent accidental firing.

Using the VINCI Spark220 mod

The VOOPOO VINCI Spark220 basic operations are as follows:

Click fire five times to turn the device on/off

Use the dial to adjust wattage (or temperature in TC)

Click fire three times to enter the menu

In TC mode: click fire twice to change from F to C

The menu lets you adjust modes, program the lock slider, reset puffs, control the lights and animations, change themes, and access the battery evaluator.

There are three theme options: Sun (basic layout), Star (animated circle around wattage), and Comet (colorful background with animation). Each shows resistance, puffs, and battery percentage.

The battery evaluator tests your batteries with the 0.15-ohm coil, showing a green check for good batteries or a red X for bad ones. However, the testing method isn’t explained, so I’d like more details before fully trusting it.

Temperature control performance

The Spark220’s temp control is very limited. Using SS316, I found it lacks wattage or TCR adjustments, restricting customization. I couldn’t control the coil’s heat-up speed, and during the dry burn test, the coil caught fire—something that should never happen. As a result, the Spark220 didn’t pass my temp control tests and isn’t suitable for temp control vaping.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Cons

  • Solid build quality
  • Good durability for not being an IP rated mod
  • Good size for a dual 18650 mod
  • Nice hand-feel
  • Nice lights for a futuristic look
  • Large and bright color screen
  • Good power mode performance
  • No preheat or watt curve option
  • Tank overall lacks flavor
  • Overrated charge specs
  • Not enough information on the battery tester mode
  • Temp control is not usable

CONCLUSION

The VOOPOO VINCI Spark220 is a solid dual-18650 mod with a striking design and reliable power mode performance. If you don’t need temperature control (as TC is not well-calibrated), it’s highly recommended.

The included tank isn’t exceptional but serves as a decent backup with good build quality and multiple coil options. If you already have a great tank, you can buy the mod separately.
