XROS 5 Series by VAPORESSO: Everything You Need to Know 2025

Product intro and specs

Pod vape fans are in for a treat this month with both the Caliburn G4 series and the new VAPORESSO XROS 5 and Mini launching back-to-back. So, which should you get? That’s up to you—but I’ll share my hands-on experience to help you decide.

The XROS 5 brings a color screen and advanced menu, while both models boast a powerful 1500mAh battery. The real game-changer? The new COREX 3.0 pods. If they beat the 2.0s, we’re in for something great.

Has VAPORESSO lost their touch? Not a chance. These pods are seriously impressive. Let’s dive in.

VAPORESSO XROS 5

The VAPORESSO XROS 5 is the most advanced XROS yet, with a 0.88″ color screen, customizable themes, adjustable power, and a 1500mAh battery. It offers both button and draw activation, fast charging under 30 minutes, and comes with two upgraded COREX 3.0 pods.

VAPORESSO XROS 5 Mini

The VAPORESSO ARMOUR GS is an 80W device powered by a replaceable 18650 battery (not included). It features a 5mL top-fill pod with top airflow to prevent leaks and supports GTX coils, including the 0.15Ω and 0.30Ω mesh coils for RDL and DL vaping.

Build quality and design

The XROS 5 sticks to the XROS series’ clean, sleek design with a durable, fingerprint-resistant finish (though not for all colors). It adds a color screen, fun themes, and moves the button and airflow slider to the sides for fewer accidental presses—though longtime users may need time to adjust.

The XROS 5 Mini keeps the same shape but is shorter, with no screen or button. Its glossy front and back panels add style but tend to pick up fingerprints.

Getting started

The XROS 5 Mini is super easy to use—just fill the pod, pop it in, and vape. It has a hidden four-level battery light and side airflow control, a nice touch for a beginner-friendly device.

The XROS 5 adds more features but remains user-friendly, with a handy cheat sheet sticker to help you get started fast.

One click to fire (if button-firing is selected)

Two clicks to change themes

Three clicks to change the power

Four clicks to enter the menu (screen lock, animations on/off, puff clear, button on/off)

Five clicks to power on/off

Note: To confirm menu selections on the XROS 5, you need to hold the button—waiting will cancel the changes.

Most pods use a three-level power mode (Eco, Normal, Power), with only the 0.4-ohm pod (sold separately) allowing full wattage control. The differences between levels are subtle, but they work well for the pods, and most users should be happy with the performance.

Performance

Both XROS 5 and Mini come with new COREX 3.0 pods, compatible with all XROS devices. COREX 2.0 was already great, so promises of “better stability” and “30% more flavor” sound like marketing talk—but do they really deliver? Let’s see.

0.6-ohm pod

The new COREX 3.0 pods are seriously impressive—smooth draw, rich flavor, and no wicking issues with 50/50 e-liquid. Compared to COREX 2.0, the upgrade isn’t massive, but flavor is definitely more refined. It’s all praise from me.

0.8-ohm pod

Same story with the second pod—outstanding performance. I can’t even pick a favorite. After two weeks and 24–28 mL of use, both are still going strong, showing great durability so far.

Battery life and charging

Beyond the new COREX 3.0 pods, the biggest upgrade in the XROS 5 and 5 Mini is the battery. Both now pack 1500mAh—up from 1000mAh in the XROS 4 series—with fast charging: 3A for the XROS 5 (26 mins) and 2A for the Mini (40 mins). That’s outstanding for compact devices, delivering about 7.5mL per charge.

One small downside: the Mini’s battery indicator isn’t very accurate. It may show plenty of charge left, then suddenly drop. Tracking e-liquid use (about 2.5 pods per charge) is more reliable.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Cons

  • Top-notch flavor from both pods
  • Lightning-fast charging
  • Solid build quality
  • Extremely responsive auto-draw
  • Auto-draw or button-firing (XROS 5)
  • Sharp display with multiple themes (XROS 5)
  • Quick and easy top-filling
  • Only one pod included with the Mini
  • Misleading battery indicator on the Mini
  • Not a huge difference between power modes (XROS 5)

CONCLUSION

Surprisingly, the hardest part of this review was finding real cons—VAPORESSO has nearly perfected the pod vape with the XROS 5 and 5 Mini. These aren’t groundbreaking devices, but they’re incredibly refined, clearly shaped by user feedback.

That said, I do have a few gripes. Including just one pod with the Mini is disappointing, especially for beginner-friendly kits where a spare is essential. Also, the power modes feel similar in output, and the Mini’s battery indicator isn’t very accurate—but performance and battery life (around 7.5mL per charge) are still impressive.

In short, if you’re happy with an older XROS, there’s no urgent need to upgrade. But the new COREX 3.0 pods? Definitely worth checking out—they rival the best of 2025.
