VAPORESSO ARMOUR G & GS : Ultimate Guide for Vapers in 2024

Product intro and specs

The VAPORESSO ARMOUR G and ARMOUR GS are the brand’s latest hybrid AIO/pod mods. Both offer 5–80W power, 5mL pods, and GTX coil compatibility. The key difference is the power source—ARMOUR G has a built-in 3000mAh battery, while ARMOUR GS uses a replaceable 18650 battery. Slightly larger and heavier, the GS caters to those who prefer swap-out batteries. These feature-packed devices suit intermediate vapers, offering MTL to DL versatility depending on the coil and pod used.

ARMOUR G

The VAPORESSO ARMOUR G is a compact 80W device with a 3000mAh built-in battery. It features a 5mL top-fill pod with top airflow to prevent leaks and supports all GTX coils, including the included 0.6Ω and 0.4Ω mesh coils for mid-wattage RDL vaping.

ARMOUR GS

The VAPORESSO ARMOUR GS is an 80W device powered by a replaceable 18650 battery (not included). It features a 5mL top-fill pod with top airflow to prevent leaks and supports GTX coils, including the 0.15Ω and 0.30Ω mesh coils for RDL and DL vaping.

Build quality and design

The VAPORESSO ARMOUR G and GS are premium AIO-style mods designed for MTL and DL vaping, each with two dedicated pods. The GS, slightly taller at 126mm, accommodates a replaceable 18650 battery, while the G is more compact at 113mm with a built-in battery.

Inspired by the Geekvape Aegis line, both feature soft leather panels for a classy feel, a sturdy rubber bottom, and a standout orange fire button atop a large, bright screen. They also have small LED accents, though they are only orange and lack customization. A convenient lock slider below the screen adds ease of use.

The GS has a secure hinged battery door that fits well with no issues.

  • The ARMOUR G and GS come in a variety of colors, with matching leather accents. The GS features a full leather wrap, while the G has two leather panels separated by a metal frame. Both share the same color options, except the G includes an additional red variant with black leather.
  • I received the pink GS and blue G. The blue is a soft, almost periwinkle shade with lighter blue leather that contrasts nicely with the orange fire button. The pink GS is a bold, hot pink with black leather wrapping around the device, giving it a sleek and stylish look. Both feel premium and well-crafted

Getting started

The ARMOUR series continues to offer advanced features. Wattage adjusts from 5 to 80W in full-watt increments using the up/down buttons, while a lock slider secures the device for pocketing. All other functions are controlled via the fire button.

Five clicks turn the device on and off.

Three clicks take you to the main menu.

The ARMOUR series offers two modes: Eco (normal) and Pulse (hard). The menu allows you to lock wattage, switch between three themes, and access settings. In the settings, you can enable Smart mode (auto-sets wattage for attached pods), reset the puff counter, adjust screen brightness, toggle LEDs, and control on-screen animations.

Smart mode is a standout feature, automatically adjusting wattage to prevent coil burnout—just reinsert the pod to reset it.

The devices come with two pod types: MTL (included with the G) and DL (included with the GS), both interchangeable and compatible with GTX coils. Higher resistance coils (0.8Ω, 1.2Ω) work best with MTL pods, while lower resistance (0.15Ω–0.4Ω) suit DL pods.

Performance

The VAPORESSO ARMOUR G and GS both use GTX coils. The G comes with a 0.4-ohm (26-32W) and 0.6-ohm (20-26W) coil. While I don’t like the 0.6-ohm coil for MTL due to its strength, the 0.4-ohm coil is great for RDL vaping at 32W with good flavor. I’d prefer the 0.8-ohm coil, which is perfect for MTL and makes for a solid all-day vape with its 5mL capacity and 2000+ mAh battery.

The GS comes with the DL pod and two coils: 0.15-ohm (60-75W) and 0.2-ohm (45-60W). Both deliver great flavor, with the 0.15-ohm coil providing slightly better flavor at around 70W. Both coils last long, and since both are included, you can try both to see which you prefer.

Both devices perform well, and with additional coil options, they can be customized to your vaping style. However, the 0.8-ohm mesh coil (not included) is a standout for MTL vapers.

Battery life and charging

Both the G and GS feature a USB-C port with a 2A charge rate. I’ll focus on the G, as the GS uses a removable battery.

The G has a 3000mAh internal battery. I expected a charge rate of at least 1.6A and a usable capacity of 2400mAh. After testing, I got a max charge rate of 1.87A and a usable capacity of around 2450mAh, with a full charge taking about 90 minutes. The results met my expectations.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Cons

  • Great build quality
  • Replaceable coils
  • Most of the GTX coils are great (especially the 0.8 for MTL and the 0.15 for DL)
  • Extremely versatile (MTL at 12 watts to DL at 70 watts)
  • Smart mode is great
  • Easy to use
  • ARMOUR G has great battery life for a pod/AIO (2450 mah)
  • Two pods included (MTL and DL)
  • ARMOUR G comes with the 0.6-ohm coil (should have included the 0.8-ohm one instead)
  • Pods are tinted
  • LEDs only have the option of on/off

CONCLUSION

Both the ARMOUR G and GS are solid additions to VAPORESSO’s lineup. Their ability to switch between low-wattage MTL and high-wattage DL vaping is a nice feature. The G shines as an MTL device with its compact size, large built-in battery, and 5mL capacity, making it an excellent all-day vape with the 0.8-ohm coil. There aren’t many MTL pods with this much battery and capacity. While both devices perform well for various vaping styles, the G is particularly great for MTL enthusiasts.
