Size, weight, and feel
The JUUL looks more like a USB stick than a vape, though many disposables now mimic its design. Made of aluminum with plastic pods, it feels lightweight yet durable. It’s draw-activated, meaning it only produces vapor when you puff.
With a 200 mAh battery, it delivers moderate puffs via temperature control and charges via a mini USB dock. While its internal components have evolved, its design has remained the same since the third edition. Measuring 87.2 mm (94.8 mm with a pod) and weighing just over 14g, it’s heavier than a cigarette but still easy to hold in your lips.
Getting started
JUUL batteries and pods are sold separately in slim, recyclable boxes. The battery includes a USB charging dock but no longer comes in a starter kit with pods.
JUUL pods cost 5.00 KWD , slightly cheaper than before but still around KWD (4.00–5.00) per pod. Auto-shipping (where available) offers a 15% discount. Pods snap securely into the device without a loud click.
How to begin
The JUUL was designed for the average smoker. So, you don’t have to be an expert to use it. It comes with a very simple user manual, but here are the main steps to using a JUUL.

- Ensure the battery is fully charged.
- Insert a fresh pre-filled pod.
- Inhale through the mouthpiece.
Are the flavors any good?
Due to regulations, JUUL now only offers tobacco and menthol flavors. I was fortunate to experience the original flavors in the past, but now my options are limited to tobacco.
Virginia Tobacco
The JUUL tobacco flavor is quite realistic, resembling the smell of a fresh pack of cigarettes before being lit. It’s not overly sweet but has a rich, nutty taste similar to pipe tobacco. If any flavor should be done right, it’s tobacco, and JUUL has managed to achieve that.
For many users, including myself, the entire device’s effectiveness depends on this one flavor. I enjoy it, but it’s not my go-to for all-day vaping. I used to prefer it as an occasional change when I had access to JUUL’s original sweet and fruity flavors.
Off-brand JUUL pods are still available, but their quality varies from decent to terrible, with highly inconsistent performance. Unless you have no other option, I’d recommend sticking to authentic JUUL pods. I also wouldn’t suggest trying to hack and refill them.
Customer Service
A quick search for “JUUL customer service” reveals mixed reviews, from praise to frustration. Personally, I’ve had no major issues with my purchases, but my cousin had trouble exchanging a defective device a few years ago.
JUUL offers a one-year warranty, promising to repair, replace, or refund batteries within that period. While it sounds reassuring, some users have given up on vaping due to poor support experiences. Hopefully, their service has improved over time.

CONCLUSION
The JUUL doesn’t feel the same anymore. Besides the limited flavor options, the hits feel emptier. I suspect they lowered the wattage or adjusted the temperature control to make it more sensitive. As a result, the hits are cooler and less satisfying. If you’ve used a JUUL before 2019, you’ll likely notice the difference.
