Geekvape DIGI MAX Review: A New Era of Vaping Begins?

The Geekvape DIGI MAX is a powerful, heavy-duty pod vape with an 80W output, 1.47-inch color touchscreen, 5mL capacity, haptic feedback, and auto-draw. It supports J and JR series pods with both integrated and replaceable coils .

The pod vape market has evolved from simple, low-power devices to high-tech powerhouses. The Geekvape DIGI MAX embodies this shift with a 3000mAh battery, 80W output, and a 1.47-inch color touchscreen—a stark contrast to early pod vapes.

But specs aren’t everything. Performance, quality, and functionality matter most, and the DIGI MAX delivers, exceeding most expectations. It’s a beast of a device, though not for everyone. Read on to see if it’s the right fit for you!

Build quality and design

Geekvape may be budget-friendly, but their recent devices boast top-notch build quality, and the DIGI MAX is no exception. Crafted with precision and a premium zinc alloy chassis, it feels as refined as higher-end models.

Its understated yet stylish design strikes a perfect balance—neither too plain nor too flashy. With a smooth satin finish, subtle panel details, and rounded edges, it’s comfortable to hold and visually appealing.

Geekvape DIGI PRO vs. MAX

The DIGI MAX packs 80W power and a 3000mAh battery, making it larger and heavier than some may prefer. For a more compact, pocket-friendly option, consider the Geekvape DIGI PRO—it shares the same design, pods, and coils but is streamlined for portability.

34 grams lighter

9 mm shorter (other dimensions are also slightly reduced)

40-watt max output

2000 mAh battery

Smaller screen (0.96 inches vs. 1.47 inches)

No touch screen or haptic feedback

No rubber padding on the bottom

Getting started

The Geekvape DIGI MAX is more advanced than most pod vapes, making it less intuitive at first. However, once you explore the menu, it’s easy to use.

Five clicks to turn the device on or off

Slide the switch on the bottom to lock/unlock the device (locking disables the touchscreen and button-firing, not the auto-draw)

Swipe to the right to unlock the screen (the device must be unlocked)

Filling the DIGI MAX is simple—no need to remove the pod. Just turn it sideways, open the rubber plug, and refill. However, the black mouthpiece and narrow window make it tricky to see e-liquid levels, so be careful not to overfill.

To vape, inhale or press the button (which can be locked). Airflow is adjustable via a side slider, but it’s a bit loose and may shift in your pocket.

Performance

The DIGI MAX and PRO use Geekvape’s J and JR cartridges—J pods have integrated coils, while JR pods use replaceable coils (likely why “R” stands for replaceable). Both options are available to suit your preference! My kit included 0.4Ω and 0.6Ω J pods—let’s see how they perform.

0.4-ohm pod (RDL)

The first pod didn’t last long, tasting burnt after just 6mL. Luckily, the second one performed far better, delivering an excellent RDL vape at just 24W. So far, I’ve run 21mL through it, and the flavor is only now starting to fade.

0.6-ohm pod (MTL)

Though this pod is great for RDL, I tested it with MTL and it reminded me of the 0.8Ω Q pods, which I really liked. I got a perfect MTL draw with the airflow fully closed or slightly open. The flavor is great—not the best, but no complaints. Even with 70PG e-liquid, there was no leaking

Battery life and charging

The Geekvape DIGI MAX offers impressive charging speed. With its 3000mAh battery, I expected at least 90 minutes for a full charge, but it took only 62 minutes. Even a 20-minute charge can provide hours of use.

It’s hard to track exact e-liquid usage due to the black mouthpiece and incomplete pod drainage, but I estimate around 10-11mL per charge. This device is perfect for all-day use.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Cons

  • Fantastic build quality
  • 5 mL e-liquid capacity
  • Large battery (3000 mAh)
  • Great flavor from both pods
  • Beautiful color display and customizable lightbar settings
  • Inhale- and button-activated (highly responsive auto-draw)
  • Fast charging (62 minutes)
  • Big and heavy
  • No high-wattage pods/coils available
  • Airflow slider is too loose
  • Difficult to see e-liquid level (a fully transparent pod would have been ideal)
  • Not stealthy: can’t turn off animations, screen, or vibrations

CONCLUSION

I’m feeling optimistic about 2025, thanks to the Geekvape DIGI MAX. If this is a sign of what’s to come in the vape market, we’ve got a lot to look forward to. While it might not be the most innovative device, its execution is nearly perfect.

There are a few areas for improvement with the pods: the airflow slider tension is too loose, there are no high-wattage options yet, longevity and reliability could be better, and a transparent pod would make it easier to see e-liquid levels.
