Freemax Galex Nano – The Best Pod Vape for Flavor Chasers?

The Freemax Galex Nano combines a futuristic light show with top-tier coils for an incredible vaping experience. It offers both simple draw activation and advanced features via the function button. With two of the best MTL coils available, the Galex Nano stands out as a top choice for vapers.

The Freemax Galex Nano is a compact, square-shaped pod vape designed for MTL vaping. While it lacks advanced settings, it offers adjustable features. With an 800mAh internal battery and 2mL pods compatible with GX Platform coils, it delivers excellent performance. It’s released alongside the Galex pod, which has a standard stick shape but uses the same coils.

Build quality and design

The Galex Nano is a compact, square-shaped pod system, similar to the Mi-Pod and UWELL KOKO, and is lightweight for easy portability. It features a metal body with a plastic top and a clear window for LED lights, which can be turned off. A small rectangular button on the side provides various functions. Available in five colors, the blue model I tested has a matte finish with a black top. While simple, it offers style and customization options.

Getting started

The Galex Nano is a pretty typical pod system made with beginners in mind. The function button (as I call it) doesn’t fire the device but has some great features. Here’s a rundown of basic operations:

Press the button once to check the battery level.

Two clicks change the LED color (solid rainbow, breathing singular colors that change, or turn off.)

Three clicks adjust the power level (red is low, blue is medium, and green is high).

Five clicks turn the device on and off.

The device is draw-activated; just inhale to vape.

The Galex Nano allows you to check the battery level using the button, a handy feature compared to other pods that require vaping to see it. The pod is easy to fill and magnetically snaps in place, with no wobble. You can fill it while still in the device by removing the black mouthpiece, revealing a red rubber gasket and air-escape hole.

The pod is partially exposed with no tint, making it easy to see the juice level, though you’ll need to tilt it when it’s below half. It’s an ideal choice for beginners or anyone looking for a compact, low-vapor device.

Performance

Freemax is known for its quality coils, and the GX line doesn’t disappoint. The Galex Nano comes with two coil options: a 1.0-ohm and a 0.8-ohm coil. I tested both with 50/50 20-24 mg nic salt juices, and both offered a solid MTL vape—neither too tight nor too loose.

The 0.8-ohm coil provided excellent flavor and lasted around 30 mL, well above the 20 mL promised by Freemax. The 1.0-ohm coil lasted 26 mL with slightly less flavor. Overall, both coils perform excellently, and I preferred the 0.8-ohm coil, but you can try both to see which suits you best.

Battery life and charging

The Galex Nano has great battery life with its 800 mAh internal battery, though it’s slightly lower than expected at 632 mAh. The device charges via a Type-C port at the bottom, and it took me about 50 minutes to fully charge at a rate of 0.78A. While the battery isn’t quite at the rated 800 mAh, this is typical, as most devices are slightly overrated.

It also offers passthrough vaping and a three-step LED battery meter, which is standard, though a four-step meter would be preferred. You can check the battery level by pressing the function button.

Green: 70-100%

Blue: 35-70%

Red: 0-35%

Pros and Cons

Pros

Cons

  • Great build quality
  • Compact and lightweight
  • Replaceable coils
  • Easy to use and fill
  • Can refill without removing the pod
  • See through window with adjustable LEDs is awesome
  • Clear pods (easy to see juice level)
  • Two coils included (one of each)
  • A fourth step on the battery meter would have been better
  • Doesn’t include the lanyard

CONCLUSION

Overall, Freemax has created a fantastic device with the Galex Nano. It’s simple, stylish, durable, and well-built, with excellent coils, adjustable settings, and customizable LEDs that can be turned off. If you prefer a pen-style design without as many adjustments, the Galex is a similar option that uses the same coils. Both devices are great choices for anyone seeking a compact, beginner-friendly vape that doesn’t sacrifice performance.
