Everything You Need to Know About OXVA VPRIME (Full Review)

The OXVA VPRIME isn’t the smallest pod vape, but it’s one of the most powerful. With a 60W output, 2600mAh battery, 0.96” color screen, auto-draw, and adjustable airflow, it delivers performance and convenience. Compatible with VPRIME pods (non-replaceable coils).

A friend recently asked if there’s anything better than the 2023 LUXE XR MAX. My answer? “Not yet.” Powerful DTL pod vapes are rare, but OXVA aims to change that with the VPRIME.

With a 2600mAh battery, 60W output, auto-draw, 5mL pods, adjustable airflow, and a color screen, the VPRIME checks all the boxes. But does it deliver where it counts? Let’s find out.

Build quality and design

The OXVA VPRIME is a stunner! With top-notch machining, smooth curves, and premium materials like IML, leather, or carbon fiber, it looks and feels great. The gold, green, and purple versions are especially eye-catching.

Despite its 2600mAh battery and 60W output, the size feels right—bigger than compact pods but still pocket-friendly. The vibrant color screen is a win, displaying wattage, resistance, battery percentage, and a five-digit puff counter. Customizable themes and a light bar are just icing on the cake!

Getting started

Like the XLIM Pro 2, the VPRIME features a built-in quick-start guide inside the packaging—a thoughtful touch from OXVA.

Navigation is easy with side adjustment buttons, but there are some click functions to note:

  • Two clicks to access the menu
  • Five clicks to power on or off
  • Hold both adjustment buttons to turn button firing on or off

VPRIME pods feature a side-mounted fill tab like XLIM pods, allowing for easy refills without removing them. The fill hole is spacious, preventing airlocks for quick top-ups.

Once filled, insert the pod and adjust the wattage using the side buttons. The chip automatically limits the range based on the pod, ensuring optimal performance.

0.2-ohm pod (DTL): 5-60 watts; recommended: 45-60 watts

0.6-ohm pod (RDL): 5-25 watts; recommended: 20-25 watts

Performance

The kit comes with two 5mL pods featuring Unitech 2.0 coil technology. While the coils aren’t replaceable, this trend is becoming common. I tested each pod for 5–13 days—here’s my experience:

0.2-ohm pod (DTL)

This pod handles 45–60W, so I used my go-to DTL blend (3mg, 70VG). After a short break-in, the flavor was phenomenal—possibly the best DTL mesh coil I’ve tried.

Unfortunately, it only lasted five days, but I vaped through 21mL of e-liquid at 50+W, which burns coils faster. While lifespan wasn’t great, it was expected. Still, hitting 25mL would be a welcome improvement!

0.6-ohm pod (RDL)

To match the lower power range, I used a 6mg nicotine e-liquid in this pod, and the performance was excellent—on par with the 0.6-ohm XLIM pod, one of my top picks for 2024. OXVA’s coil tech is impressive.

After 30mL of e-liquid, this pod is still going strong, making it a great option for those looking to save on replacement pods and e-liquid.

Device performance

The pod performance was great, but I encountered a couple of issues with the device. The auto-draw often sputters, stopping and starting during use. This is likely due to the air pressure-activated switch, and a stronger draw might help, but increasing switch sensitivity would be a welcome fix.

I also had issues with the firing button, which sometimes stopped mid-draw, even when pressed firmly. Thankfully, this happened only with one of the devices I tested.

Battery life and charging

OXVA equipped the VPRIME with a powerful 2600mAh battery, lasting about two pod fills (9–10mL). It also charges quickly, with a full charge taking 63–78 minutes. (One device charged slightly faster than the other, which isn’t uncommon.)

Similar to the XLIM Pro 2, the charging display changes with the device theme. The default theme shows just the battery percentage, while the space and rocket themes include unique animations alongside the percentage.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Cons

  • Excellent build quality
  • 5 mL e-liquid capacity
  • Beautiful color display with customizable themes
  • Customizable lightbar settings (can also be turned off)
  • Quick start guide integrated into packaging
  • Excellent flavor from both pods
  • Five-digit puff counter with reset option
  • Sputtering when using auto-draw
  • Wonky button (on one device only)
  • No replaceable coil options (yet)
  • Can’t lock adjustment buttons
  • Pod longevity wasn’t great on the 0.2-ohm pod

CONCLUSION

Is the OXVA VPRIME better than the LUXE XR MAX? In some ways, yes. The VPRIME offers superior pod performance, a better screen and menu, faster charging, and a more pocket-friendly design. However, the LUXE XR MAX is more powerful (80W) and has replaceable pods and coils. It’s a close call, but I’d choose the VPRIME for its exceptional pods.

My main issue is the auto-draw switch’s sensitivity, but that might be my inhalation style. The firing button on one of my devices was also glitchy.

Overall, the VPRIME is fantastic—one of my top devices this year. If you want a high-wattage pod vape, this should be at the top of your list. Mid-wattage RDL vapers will also appreciate its battery life and e-liquid capacity.
