ECO NANO 2 & PRO Review: A Better Alternative to Disposables?

Product intro and specs

I initially overlooked the original ECO NANO, assuming it was just another basic pod system. But as praise for it grew, I started to wonder if I had missed out. Before I could try it, I received the new VAPORESSO ECO NANO 2 & PRO for review.

While they share pods with the original, these upgraded versions gave me the full ECO NANO experience. After two weeks of use, I regret dismissing them too soon. They may be beginner-friendly, but their performance is anything but basic.

VAPORESSO ECO NANO PRO

The VAPORESSO ECO NANO PRO is slightly taller than the NANO 2, featuring a screen and dual power modes (ECO & PWR) for adjustable power and airflow. It also introduces a 0.6Ω LUSH MESH pod for exceptional flavor and comes in eight colors.

VAPORESSO ECO NANO 2

The VAPORESSO ECO NANO 2 keeps the same size, 1000mAh battery, and charging as the original but gets a design refresh, a new 0.6Ω pod, and a four-stage battery indicator. Available in nine colors.

Build quality and design

The ECO NANO PRO and NANO 2 may target disposable users, but they feel far more premium. With metal bodies, a solid weight, and a soft matte finish, they’re slim, compact, and pocket-friendly—even the PRO model.

While well-built, budget elements show in the simple graphics and lack of deep engravings. My NANO 2 had a tiny flaw, but it was barely noticeable. Though not premium, the quality exceeds expectations.

One downside: each kit includes only one pod. A backup would be ideal for reliability, especially in a starter kit.

Just to avoid any confusion as we move forward, let’s quickly highlight the key differences between the two devices.

  • The ECO NANO PRO stands out with its screen and power modes. The screen is basic, showing the mode, battery level, and an odd flying saucer graphic. A puff counter or a smaller, simpler display would have been better.

  • The real highlight is the dual power modesECO restricts airflow and lowers voltage, while PWR increases both for a stronger hit. It’s a great feature, especially for those who prefer more power or enhanced flavor.

Height: The PRO is 10.8mm taller, but otherwise, dimensions are the same.
Weight: The PRO is 9 grams heavier.
Power: The NANO 2 has no power settings, while the PRO offers ECO and PWR modes.
Airflow: The NANO 2 has looser airflow and no adjustability; the PRO offers two airflow options tied to power modes.
Battery: Both have a 1000mAh battery.
Screen: The PRO has a minimalist screen for mode and battery; the NANO 2 only has an LED battery indicator.
Pods: Both include 0.6-ohm pods, but the PRO pod lasts longer (25k vs. 18k puffs).

Getting started

The VAPORESSO ECO NANO 2 and PRO are simple to use—just fill the pod and vape.

Filling is easy through the rubber tab at the bottom, with a leak-resistant design thanks to a sturdy fill tab and rubber grommet (push the bottle tip through the grommet).

After filling, snap the pod into place (either orientation), and inhale to vape. The magnets hold the pod firmly with minimal movement. The PRO offers two power modes, which can be switched using the side button.

Performance

Both devices work with the original ECO NANO pods, but VAPORESSO includes two new versions: a 0.6-ohm MESH pod for the NANO 2 and a 0.6-ohm LUSH MESH pod for the NANO PRO.

The pods look almost identical, except for slight differences in the wicking ports. The LUSH pods are advertised with a higher puff count (25k vs. 18k), suggesting potential differences in coil specs or wicking. If the LUSH pod is better, why not include it in both kits?

0.6-ohm MESH pod

I initially planned to test both devices for MTL but quickly switched to RDL. The ECO NANO 2’s airflow is too loose for MTL, similar to a 2mm air pin in an RTA, making it hard to activate with a tight draw. Covering the pod’s air inlets helps, but it’s not ideal.

I swapped to a thicker 70VG e-liquid with lower nicotine, and it turned out to be a great choice for RDL. The flavor was fantastic with no wicking issues. The airflow is a bit tight for RDL, so it’s not for cloud-chasers, but it worked well for me. However, performance dipped after 23 mL, possibly due to the e-liquid type.

0.6-ohm LUSH MESH pod

The ECO NANO PRO in ECO mode offers a solid MTL draw. It might not be as tight as some prefer, but it’s restrictive enough for most users.

I filled the pod with a 50/50 tobacco e-liquid, waited five minutes, and was blown away by the flavor. The COREX technology keeps impressing, delivering top-tier MTL performance. This is one of the best MTL pods I’ve tried in 2024, still going strong after 27 mL with no drop in flavor.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Cons

  • Excellent flavor from both pods
  • 6 mL e-liquid capacity
  • Compact size
  • Boost mode is a nice addition to the PRO
  • Large battery for their size (1000 mAh)
  • Battery percentage on display while using and charging (PRO only)
  • No leaking or condensation from pods
  • Only one pod included
  • Airflow is too loose on the ECO NANO 2 (not ideal for MTL)
  • Both devices would have benefited from a fully adjustable airflow switch
  • No puff counter on the PRO screen

CONCLUSION

The ECO NANO 2 and ECO NANO PRO have exceeded expectations. Despite being simple and affordable, they deliver an excellent vaping experience thanks to VAPORESSO’s top-tier coil technology. The flavor is outstanding, and the kits are compact, with a 6 mL e-liquid capacity and solid battery life.

For me, the ECO NANO PRO is the clear winner, thanks to its tighter airflow and power modes. The NANO 2 was great for RDL, but its loose airflow made it unsuitable for MTL.

I’m left questioning the necessity of the ECO NANO 2 since it doesn’t offer many changes from the original. If VAPORESSO had added an airflow slider or a bigger battery, it would have felt more like a true “version two.”
