Is the UWELL Caliburn G4 the Best Vape of 2025? Full Review & Test

Product intro and specs

The UWELL Caliburn G4 is finally here, and the hype is real—especially after the success of the G3 series. With a sleek design, color screen, and upgraded pods, the G4 steps things up while still supporting G3 (GPP) pods. We’ll also cover the G4 Mini, a simpler, more budget-friendly option. After 18 months of waiting, do these new kits deliver? Spoiler: they don’t disappoint.

UWELL Caliburn G4

The UWELL Caliburn G4 may be lightweight, but it’s packed with features: a 0.85″ color screen, three themes, adjustable brightness and power, two new modes (Storm & Wave), a 1300mAh battery, and upgraded GPP pods with PRO-FOCS 4.0 tech.

UWELL Caliburn G4 Mini

The UWELL Caliburn G4 Mini is a compact, simplified version of the G4. It skips the screen and extras but delivers up to 35W power, adjustable airflow, a 1100mAh battery, and comes with a 0.6Ω GPP pod for smooth MTL or RDL vaping.

Build quality and design

The Caliburn G4 stands out with a fresh, clean design and pastel-like finish that feels more like glossy plastic than metal. It’s lightweight (54.7g), smooth in hand, and packs in features like a sharp 0.85″ color screen with themes and brightness modes. Downsides? It attracts hand oils and doesn’t stand well upright.

The G4 Mini, while well-built and lighter (46g), lacks the distinctive style of the G4. Its design feels generic, but the satin finish resists fingerprints, and the inclusion of adjustable airflow is a nice bonus for such a simple device.

  • The ARMOUR G and GS come in a variety of colors, with matching leather accents. The GS features a full leather wrap, while the G has two leather panels separated by a metal frame. Both share the same color options, except the G includes an additional red variant with black leather.
  • I received the pink GS and blue G. The blue is a soft, almost periwinkle shade with lighter blue leather that contrasts nicely with the orange fire button. The pink GS is a bold, hot pink with black leather wrapping around the device, giving it a sleek and stylish look. Both feel premium and well-crafted

Getting started

The Caliburn G4 offers multiple settings, so a few button combos are worth learning. Thankfully, UWELL includes a quick start guide—read it once, and you’ll be ready to go in no time.

One click to wake up the screen

Two clicks to lock/unlock button-firing

Three clicks to enter wattage-adjustment mode

Four clicks to enter the menu (theme, mode, brightness, puff clear)

Five clicks to power on/off

The G4 uses long-press button confirms—much better than the usual “select and wait” method. The new GPP pods have an exposed side-fill plug, so you don’t need to remove the pod to refill. It’s sleek, flush, and easy to access. Like before, pods offer two airflow levels based on orientation, with fine-tuning via the slider.

The G4 Mini is simpler: fill it, adjust airflow, and vape. A three-color LED shows battery life—green (60–100%), blue (30–60%), red (0–30%).

Performance

Caliburn pods have always delivered great flavor, and the new PRO-FOCS 4.0 pods take it even further—they definitely live up to the hype.

0.9-ohm pod (MTL)

While the 0.9Ω pods aren’t my ideal for MTL due to less warmth, the flavor is still excellent—comparable to previous versions. They max out at 15W, and a bit more power could enhance the taste. The real standout is longevity: even with harsh e-liquid, the pod lasted over 24mL with no drop in flavor.

0.6-ohm pod (MTL/RDL)

If you want a versatile pod, this one’s worth trying. I used it for RDL and MTL, and it performed great both ways. It’s the only pod with the G4 Mini and works perfectly without adjustable wattage.

About the two output modes—Wave and Storm—UWELL hints they’re normal and boost modes, but I couldn’t notice any real difference. If you can, you’ve got a sharper ear than me!

Battery life and charging

The Caliburn G4’s 1300mAh battery is bigger than the G3’s, but in my tests, it didn’t last longer—around 4.7-4.8mL per charge, similar to the smaller G3 Pro. Plus, it takes longer to charge (44-45 mins vs. 36-39). The battery meter can be misleading, showing a slow drop at first, then suddenly dying.

The G4 Mini’s 1100mAh battery also underperformed, lasting about 4.1-4.3mL per charge with a 58-minute charge time, which is decent for a budget pod.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Cons

  • Excellent flavor from both pods
  • Compatible with G3 pods
  • Auto-draw or button-firing (G4)
  • Lightweight (46-54.7 grams)
  • Beautiful display with multiple themes (G4)
  • Five-digit puff counter (G4)
  • Can refill without removing the pod from the device
  • Battery percentage on display is inconsistent on one of my G4 units
  • Both batteries seem overrated
  • The 0.9-ohm pod would benefit from a bit more power (limited to 15 watts)
  • Three-stage battery indicator on the G4 Mini (four would be ideal)

CONCLUSION

The UWELL Caliburn G4 and G4 Mini deliver great flavor and keep compatibility with G3 pods—a big win for users. Their simple, portable designs suit both beginners and experienced vapers.

However, battery life fell short of expectations, and one G4’s battery meter was inaccurate. The G4’s finish also feels greasy, which may bother some.

Still, these devices set a strong foundation for the G4 lineup, and with such solid pods, future models like KOKO and Pro versions look promising.
