The Aegis Max is Geekvape’s newest single-battery box mod, continuing the brand’s reputation for durable, reliable devices. It builds on the legacy of the original Aegis, known for its IP67 shock and water resistance, and follows popular models like the Aegis Legend and Aegis X. Designed for a single 21700 battery, it’s also compatible with 20700 and 18650 cells (with an adapter). While it usually comes with the Zeus sub-ohm tank, this review focuses on the mod only.

First impressions
I’ve tested nearly every mod in the Aegis series—Legend, X, Solo, Mini—you name it. The Aegis Max came with just the basics: the mod and a USB cable, no extras. But it didn’t need instructions; it works just like the others. That’s a plus in my book—no need to change what already works. The Max feels solid, looks sharp, and performs just as expected. Geekvape kept it simple, and that’s a win.
Build quality and design
The Aegis Max stays true to the Aegis line—rugged, well-built, and solid in hand. It features a hexagon fire button, clear black-and-white screen, responsive controls, and a USB port protected by a rubber plug for dust and water resistance. While it lacks a color screen, it’s bright and easy to read. It’s compact for its class—smaller than a dual-battery mod but larger than most single 21700 mods due to its IP67 build. It supports 21700, 20700, and 18650 batteries (adapter included) and fits up to 30 mm atomizers with no overhang
I tested the Grey Pearl edition of the Aegis Max—sleek metal frame, brown leather grip, and clean branding with “Geekvape” and “Aegis” engraved on each side. The build quality is excellent, and the threaded battery door works flawlessly. As expected, it passed IP67 tests with no issues—waterproof, shockproof, and tough. While the screen and buttons could crack under heavy impact, the mod remains functional. Overall, it’s a stylish, durable device built to last
Features and functions
The Aegis Max includes all the essential features we’ve come to expect—power mode, temp control (Ni, Ti, SS, TCR), bypass, and VPC mode. No new extras, just the reliable, practical functions you need in a solid regulated mod.
Using the Aegis Max
As far as the menu goes, it’s the same as the original. Here is a quick rundown of how to use it.
Five clicks of the fire button to turn on and off.
Three clicks to enter menu mode.
Use up and down in menu mode to cycle through modes and fire to accept.
After selecting a mode, you can use up and down to adjust within the mode and fire to accept.
Hold fire to exit menu mode.
Overall, very simple and easy to use with a good menu. I personally love the ease of use of their menu system.
