Product intro and specs

The VOOPOO ARGUS G and ARGUS POD SE are the latest additions to VOOPOO’s ARGUS series of pod systems. These devices are compatible with the same pods used by the ARGUS P1, as well as older models like the ARGUS Z and other ARGUS devices. Having thoroughly enjoyed the ARGUS P1, which proved to be an excellent pod system, I’m optimistic about these new releases since they utilize the same coils. However, I’ll dive deeper in this review to see how they measure up.

The ARGUS G stands out as the more premium option, featuring a sleek black-and-white display, adjustable wattage, and a robust 1000 mAh battery. On the other hand, the ARGUS POD SE offers a simpler design with an 800 mAh battery. Both devices use 2 mL pods with built-in coils that must be replaced once the coil life ends. For added versatility, a refillable “blank” pod is also available, compatible with four coils from the ITO series.

Build quality and design

The ARGUS POD SE is a simple, user-friendly pod system with a compact rectangular design that’s highly portable. It features an adjustable air slider for a customizable MTL experience, with three LED lights on the side to indicate battery levels. Available in five colors, it includes shiny panels for the blue and orange variants, while the red, black, and brown options feature leather accents. I tested the shiny blue, a stunning teal with subtle patterns that catch the light beautifully.

The ARGUS G is the more advanced option, featuring a black-and-white screen that displays battery life, wattage, resistance, and a puff counter. It’s slightly taller and slimmer than the SE and offers a more adjustable air slider for MTL to restricted DL vaping.

Available in seven colors—four solid (gloss black, satin blue, sand drift gold, glow pink) and three gradient (space gray, racing green, aurora blue)—the G combines sleek aesthetics with practicality. I tested the space gray, which has a striking gradient finish. Both devices are lightweight yet sturdy, designed to withstand daily use while offering excellent build quality and appealing color options.

Battery life and charging

The ARGUS SE features an 800 mAh internal battery with a USB-C port located at the bottom. In testing, the charge rate maxed out at 0.7A, likely rated at 1A, and it took around 70 minutes to fully charge—acceptable but not particularly fast. The actual battery capacity measured approximately 700 mAh, slightly below the rating but within an acceptable range. Three side LEDs indicate battery life, with each representing one-third of the charge.

Three lights: 66-100%

Two lights: 33-66%

One light: 0-33%

Performance

The ARGUS G and SE come with two pods: a 0.7-ohm and a 1.2-ohm coil. Both delivered excellent performance, lasting 20 mL with great flavor, surpassing the typical 10-15 mL lifespan. The 0.7-ohm coil is ideal for loose MTL under 20 watts, while the 1.2-ohm pod feels better suited for these devices. Both options are reliable and offer a great vaping experience.

Getting started

The ARGUS POD SE is a simple, beginner-friendly device with no buttons or settings—just inhale to vape. The ARGUS G adds a single button for basic controls like turning the device on/off (5 clicks) and adjusting wattage (3 clicks), but it’s still easy to use and supports inhale-to-fire.

Both devices feature magnetic pods that are easy to insert and remove, with a black rubber plug on the side for filling. The pods are lightly tinted, making juice levels easy to monitor—great for functionality.

Overall, both devices are perfect for new vapers or those seeking a compact, low-vapor option for daily use.
