Build quality and design
The XROS 4 and XROS 4 Mini are nearly identical, with a few key differences. The Mini is smaller, lacks a button, and has no power adjustments, while the XROS 4 is slightly taller, features a multi-function button, and allows power control.
Both devices have a stick-style design, a silver LED/display cover, and adjustable airflow via a slider on the back. They support USB-C charging, with the Mini’s port on the bottom and the XROS 4’s on the side.
VAPORESSO offers plenty of color options, from classic shades to unique designs. The XROS 4’s pastel palette gives off an Easter vibe, while the XROS 4 Mini’s camo red has a hot pink tint. With a durable aluminum body, both devices are well-built and stylish, holding up well in daily use.
Performance
COREX 2.0 Pods & Compatibility – The XROS 4 and XROS 4 Mini use the same COREX-powered pods, compatible across the XROS series. New 3mL pod options include 0.4Ω, 0.6Ω, and 0.8Ω, offering improved flavor and coil longevity. The Mini comes with one 0.4Ω pod, while the XROS 4 includes 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω pods.
- Performance & Preference – The 0.4Ω pod runs hot and is best for lower-nicotine restricted DL vaping, while higher resistance pods (0.6Ω & 0.8Ω) work well for MTL vaping and provide great flavor and long coil life (up to 30mL per coil). The 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω pods performed best overall, especially on the normal setting of the XROS 4.
Getting started
The XROS 4 and XROS 4 Mini are both beginner-friendly pod systems, with the Mini being the simplest—just fill and inhale. The XROS 4 offers one-button operation with minimal settings for slight customization.
The Mini requires no adjustments—just ensure it’s filled and inhale. Airflow can be tweaked using the slider.
The XROS 4 has extra features:
5 clicks to power on/off
4 clicks to lock/unlock (still allows inhale activation)
3 clicks to change power levels (Soft, Normal, Hard)
Both devices display battery levels by reinserting the pod and have an easy top-fill system—just push the flat side of the mouthpiece to reveal the large fill hole. The pods are clear and nearly fully visible, making it easy to monitor e-liquid levels. Magnetic pod connection ensures a secure fit.
Battery life and charging
Both the XROS 4 and XROS 4 Mini have 1000mAh batteries, with the XROS 4 charging at 2A (USB-C on the side) and the Mini at 1A (USB-C on the bottom). In testing, the XROS 4 charged in 35 minutes (1.79A max rate), while the Mini took 60 minutes (0.95A max rate). Usable battery capacity is around 850mAh for both, which meets expectations.
Both devices support passthrough vaping and use a three-stage LED battery indicator: Green (70-100%), Blue (30-70%), and Red (0-30%). While a four-stage indicator would be ideal, the system works well for monitoring battery levels.

CONCLUSION
Overall, I’m pleased with both pod systems. The XROS 4 Mini is a simpler, more compact device but the included pod isn’t the best match for it. I prefer the XROS 4 for its two pods and adjustable vape settings. However, the Mini is great for those who want a smaller, more affordable option with the same battery life. Both devices deliver on the XROS reputation, so you can’t go wrong with either.
